The archaeological site of Cacaxtla is a site founded by the Olmeca-Xicalanca culture between the years 100-1100 AD. It is possible to appreciate the richness of this culture, through the enormous platform of the archaeological complex and the sumptuous decoration.

Cacaxtla represented a strategic point to control the passage of the commercial route between Teotihuacan and the lowlands of the Gulf that arrived to Tabasco and Campeche, location determining for its growth and splendor.

It is a jewel of the artistic creation of our ancestors, considered as a naturalistic painting, a product of the biculturalism of the Olmecas-Xicalancas, which was reflected in fragile walls, stories of the sea, battles, men birds, human ears, stars and snakes. All made with the color of kaolin pigments, obsidian, lime and other minerals of the region.
